Who Placed a Wreath on Our Door?
Imagine our surprise when we arrived today, for the first time, and found a wreath on our door. Deepest gratitude to Jean, Dermot & Ivan for all their help.
Amazing Friends
And this little fellow & poinsettia were among other treasures inside.
Comforts Covered
The loan of a Nespresso machine, kettle, and basic tableware has been wonderful. (The box of chocolates - divine!)
Pat at Work
But where is Mervyn?
Almost Empty
Mervyn, behind the door, is keen to get the internet up and running.
Coffee Break with Rainbow
We took a break for coffee at our wee outdoor table (which will serve as our eating area for now.) The skies began to clear and a massive rainbow appeared over the sea.
Rainbow
Taken from our patio. The tip of Bray Head is seen on the left.
Sofas Arrive
These were due in January but arrived yesterday!
Sleeping Quarters
Our mattress arrived as well. Now to get something up on those windows - but isn't the garden lovely!
Bunny
Monday we picked up our car. She is a low mileage used Golf and in great condition. (Mervyn is pretty impeccable too.) I named her Bunny, but Mervyn refuses to let me put a pink nose on the front.
Bray Head Walk
This is the view when you walk outside and turn to the left. We are heading out for a bit of a stroll on the Cliff Walk to Bray. That is Bray Head in the distance.
Arthur's Cove
Steps away is his small cove where Arthur likes to throw rocks with Pop.
Cliff Walk to Bray
100 yards or so from the Campian begins the Cliff Walk to Bray.
Oh Goodness
Right outside our door is the hike to Bray. We came upon this defibrillator in the first 10 minutes - wonder what that means.
Wednesday - Returning Rental Car
We arrive at Dublin Airport, return our rental, and await the Air Coach. This is a bus that will take us all the way to Greystones. We hope to use it in the future to get to and from the airport.
Aircoach a Dream
It is a beautiful day and the coach is great, complete with superb Wifi. Merv serves as tour guide as we progress thru downtown Dublin and down the coast. Mission accomplished!
Remembrance Tree
I popped into the pharmacy, while Merv shopped for wine :-). They had this tree set up w/ a table with cards...
Mother
I left a card for you Mom - you and Dad are here with me on this journey.
Thursday - Woodies and The Youngest Groves
We went to Woodies today - the Home Depot of Ireland. Merv drooled over a number of tools - I got a toilet brush! Gavin, Sarah and wee Arthur stopped in to check out the new digs. Arthur was quite taken with Santa Claus & the Pooh wallpaper.
